Trussell

In 2008 Adrian left the banking industry to start Wales’ first Trussell food bank, in one of the most deprived boroughs in the UK.

Soon after launching the initiative Adrian started working with churches and community groups across Wales to replicate the food bank in their local community. Using a social franchise model Adrian successfully helped the charity grow a network of food banks across Wales, reaching tens of thousands of people in crisis.

Adrian was appointed UK Foodbank Director and over the next few years helped Trussell expand the network of food banks to over 1,400 centres resourced by 40,000 volunteers and providing over a million three-day food supplies to people in crisis each year. Each year the network motivated over 4 million people to take action and tackle hunger.

Advocating for those in crisis, Adrian represented the UK food bank movement to the media, appearing on ITV This Morning, ITV Daybreak, Good Morning Britain, BBC Breakfast, BBC News, Sky News, Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast, Channel 4 News, S4C, BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 2, LBC Radio and most Regional BBC and commercial Radio stations.

Adrian was quoted regularly in international press including The Guardian, The Mirror, The Sun, The Times and The Daily Mail and was called upon to provide evidence to Governments in Westminster and Wales, appearing before committees, all party parliamentary groups and government departments.

Adrian developed a national team of staff and helped the charity manage complex corporate relationships with international businesses, high net worth donors and supporters.

Connect Supply

Adrian is the founder and CEO of Connect Supply, an innovative new way for churches, charities and businesses to access affordable expertise, low-cost resources and support.

Having worked with organisations for 30 years, Adrian understands that organisations often struggle to find skilled people to undertake key tasks and can lack the financial resource to employ an expert. Often leaders are forced to undertake tasks themselves, or they are delegated to people who have the time, however, lack the skills. This can restrict growth, increase stress and reduce the efficiency of an organisation.

Connect Supply acts as an organisation’s own admin and support team. Skilled staff undertake tasks on behalf of local organisations, liberating leaders to focus on the direction and health of their church, charity or business. Expert staff help leadership teams develop a plan for growth and provide connections to other organisations, funders, ministries and services that may be unfamiliar to them.

Since launching in 2021 the business has grown rapidly. The Connect Supply team currently supports 85 organisations with services including:

  • Bookkeeping, Payroll & Gift-Aid
  • Website Design, Hosting and Management
  • Social Media Management & Communications
  • Fulfilment, Design & Print Services
